Mrs. Heather Dragon

​

       My name is Heather Dragon and this is my 24th year of teaching.  I began my teaching career in St. Pete in 2000 and enjoyed working at Shore Acres Elementary for ten years.  I moved closer to home after having my third child. 

     Braden River Elementary became my home away from home ten years ago.  I've had experience teaching 5th grade, 4th grade, 3rd grade, as well as a 3rd-4th combo class.  I was given the experience of learning new things with all of my engineering classes when I taught STEM three years ago.

     It has been a joy to come to Harvey to become a 4th grade shark.  This will be my third year here and I can't wait to make new memories alongside your child.

       I believe that every child can learn and I am here to help each child in my class to achieve their goals and make learning gains.  I encourage my students to be independent, motivated, and responsible workers.  I know with all of us working together to teach your child, anything is possible!

        I married my high school sweetheart in 2000 and we have 3 children, Haley, David, and Hunter.  Haley attends USF in St. Pete, David will be a sophmore at Palmetto High, and Hunter will be in 8th grade at Buffalo Creek Middle School.  Our family loves to swim, fish, read, and play together.  I'm sure I'll have plenty of funny stories to share with my class as there is always something amusing happening with the Dragons! 

    We're going to have a blast learning alongside each other, rocking our transformations, and going on adventures in our daily read alouds as well as exploring labs in science.
